Rantings of an Insane Girl

Dear Negatives,

As much as I hate dealing with you constantly, you have made and continue to make me a stronger person.  While dealing with medical issues, money issues, moving issues, relationship issues and deployment issues all at once is seriously putting a strain on my ability to deal with life, I know that if I can come out the other side, I will be a better person for it.

{Monday, 13 February 2012}   Yup…still blog absent…

Oi, I swear I started the blog with the intention of using it. Maybe with all the new life stuff going on I’ll finally get rolling on it. Maybe I’ll just set an alarm on my phone to blog once a day and hope it annoys me into the habit of using it. For now, I will try to keep up on the blog with what I’m already doing on Facebook, the 30 Day Music Challenge…which I’m already a day behind on because I was on the train yesterday and didn’t post a song before I left. I’m going to backdate all the posts, so it might look a little funky, but at least the times will be right.

So…life stuff…boyfriend left for Afghanistan on Thursday. Moving to North Carolina in May. Trying to not kill myself over medical issues and money issues and…well just issues. Gonna try to start back up with the Gratitude Challenge again. Maybe it will remind me of all the reasons I just need to chill the eff out.

On to the music & gratitude…

{Wednesday, 4 August 2010}   Finding Purpose

Well, the resolution to blog more didn’t work very well, but with no real purpose other than keeping a public diary, there’s no consistant desire to keep a blog. So my new goal for this blog is to find an actual purpose for it, other than just being randomness in cyberspace. And to actually complete the Gratitude Challenge, now that I have time for it. Here goes nothing.

{Sunday, 15 November 2009}   Gratitude Challenge: Feeling Grateful

Things have been crazy and I’ve been sick, but now I’m back on track for the Gratitude Challenge!

Today’s task is to write about something in my life I am grateful for, and that’s a cinch! I am grateful for OPPORTUNITIES!

As I’m finishing up my Associate’s degree, transferring to Eastern Washington University for my Bachelor’s and prepping for Army life I have too many opportunities to even begin to count. Having to decide what job I want to take in the Army, looking at doing a couple of quarters in Japan on an exchange program, doing the International Peer Mentor program and getting to meet people who are becoming fabulous friends…what more could a person ask for? Except maybe a little extra money. That would be nice.

All in all my schooling and Army opportunities are shaping up to be really good. I just hope they stay that way. And speaking of school opportunities, I’m not going to have ANY if I don’t get cracking on my homework.

Hooah!

{Wednesday, 4 November 2009}   Gratitude Challenge

With all the insane things going on in life right now, I think it’s important to evaluate all the things in life that you can be grateful for.

With a hopeful outlook, I, Erin J. Mansfield, promise to fulfill the terms
of The Gratitude Challenge. Over the next 21 days, I pledge to complete the
activities on my gratitude calendar, including writing journal entries, taking
photos and connecting with friends. I promise to take note of life’s little blessings
and to give thanks for the relationships, experiences and opportunities that make
my life unique. From this day forward, I commit to living on the brighter side of life.

Join the Gratitude Challenge.
